Dr Suzanne Conboy-Hill

I qualified in clinical psychology from the Maudsley hospital (Bedlam) in 1982 and worked with adults with intellectual disabilities until I retired, after 23 years as a consultant, in 2012. People with intellectual disabilities experience all the same mental health problems as anyone else, including psychosis, personality disorder, and autistic spectrum conditions. They are also just as likely to be victims or perpetrators and so I have spent quite a lot of time giving expert evidence to the courts. I developed a specialist interview technique for decisional capacity which is now available as a free resource to professionals.
